In 1971, the Chorus gained international recognition, earning a diploma at the Folklore Festival in Burgas (Bulgaria). On becoming a folk chorus, it failed, nevertheless, to adequately embody the peculiarities of the Kuban Cossack folklore. The Kuban Cossack Chorus was still to establish itself.
The essence of Song and Dance arrangements is simple - to return to the folk song its life truth and content embodying its natural environment - labour, feats of arms, young people's gatherings and weddings. It is, however, a seeming simplicity.
The Kuban Chorus has traversed a long path to reach the cherished margin beyond which the distinction is obliterated between stage and life, between genuine folk art and its reproduction in the flood lit Song and Dance hall.
